It all begins when Ryan (Benjamin McKenzie) moves to OC because Sandy Cohen (Peter Gallagher), an idealistic defense attorney, prevented him from going to jail, and due to his own identification with Ryan , invites him to spend some time at home. Initially, his arrival was not well accepted by Kirsten, who at first did not understand why her husband brought a minor "offenders" to the family home. Despite her fear, her main concern was with her only son Seth, who could end up being influenced by Ryan. After his arrival, the city of Newport Beach was never the same, much confusion, drama, highs and lows governing the entire series during its four years of display.

To make the situation a little more interesting, there is Marissa Cooper (Mischa Barton), the beautiful girl who lives next door, which apparently can cope well with life's difficulties. Fringe

Walter Bishop, but he was in a psychiatric institution for the past 20 years and the only way to question him is through his son, Peter Bishop, whom he had not seen for a long time.

What they do not realize is that while the mystery of the plane appeared to be an isolated case, it is just the tip of the iceberg of a much bigger and important.

In summary, we have an FBI agent, a scientist with a dark past and his son trying to unravel one of the best kept secrets in an old project as mysterious as they surely illegal. All this mixed with expensive special effects and accompanied by this great mix of intrigue and suspense in which JJ Abrams is an expert.

Developed by Endemol USA and produced by Entertainment One and Nomadic Pictures, Hell on Wheels is created, written, and executive-produced by Joe and Tony Gayton.

The plot takes place shortly after the end of the Civil War in the United States, when peace was not the end of the animosity between the men of the north and south. With the death of Lincoln and the liberation of slaves, the United States plunged into a large project: the construction of the first transcontinental railroad.
The series has a great photo, with excellent images and soundtrack, but still lack some depth to the characters who end up looking a little shallow (perhaps with the time change thing).

Anson Mount (Conviction and the series Third Watch) is the protagonist, whose story is linked to the construction of the railroad, Dominique McElligott (Me Home?, Lunar) Lilly's Bell, a widow who fears that the railroad would bring ruin to the West, Eddie Spears (the miniseries Into the West) is Joseph, an Indian, whose goal is to ensure the safety of his people, the rapper Common plays Elam Ferguson, emancipated a mulatto slave who seeks to escape the prejudice to progress through the ranks of the railroad, Tom Noonan (of Damages) is the Reverend Nathaniel Cole, who wants to avoid a war between whites and Indians through Joseph, and Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Stargate: Atlantis) is Thomas "Doc" Duncan, a character based on a historical figure real, an entrepreneur who is benefiting from the construction of the railroad.
