Boardwalk Empire is a period drama focusing on Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (based on the historical Enoch L. Johnson), a political figure who rose to prominence and controlled Atlantic City, New Jersey, during the Prohibition period of the 1920s and 1930s. The cast is headed by Steve Buscemi ("Nucky Thompson") in which, in the first episode we see him mingling with several figures of the crime, gangsters like Lucky Luciano (Vincet Piazza), Armold Rothstein (Michael Stuhlbarg) and a young driver Al Capone (Stephen Graham). He also did his part as a good guy, winning the ladies of the League Against Alcohol with their emotional stories. One of them, Mrs. Margaret Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald) has a troubled marriage and arouses a certain interest Nucky.
